"MJ will be my new name. No more Michael Jackson. I want a whole new character, a whole new look. I should be a tottally [sic] different person. People should never think of me as the kid who sang "ABC," [or] "I Want You Back." I should be a new, incredible actor/singer/dancer that will shock the world. I will do no interviews. I will be magic. I will be a perfectionist, a researcher, a trainer, a masterer [sic]. I will be better than every great actor roped into one. I "must" have the most incredible training system. To dig and dig and dig until I find.

I will study and look back on the whole world of Entertainment and perfect it. Take it steps further from where the greats left off."

Michael Jackson

"I still had our hit records to be proud of, and once I hit the stage, I didn’t think about anything else. All that worry was gone. But once I came offstage, there was that mirror to face again.” ~ Moonwalk

"A lot of people are so used to to just seeing the outcome of work. They never see the side of the work you go through to produce the outcome." ~ Michael Jackson

"If you are my fan I consider you as my family, blood related."

Invincible’ is just as good or better than ‘Thriller’, in my true, humble opinion. It has more to offer. Music is what lives and lasts. ‘Invincible’ has been a great success. When ‘The Nutcracker Suite’ was first introduced to the world, it totally bombed. What’s important is how the story ends.

[Racism] is the only thing I hate. I really do. And that’s why I try to write, put it in songs, put it in dance, put it in my art – to teach the world. If politicians can’t do it, poets should put it in poetry and writers should put it in novels. That’s what we have to do and I think it’s so important to save the world. ~ MICHAEL JACKSON, 1979

“Later, in another part of Florida, when the old tour boredom set in that I described earlier, I played a little trick on Frank. I asked him to come up to my suite and when he came in I offered him some watermelon, which was lying on a table across the room. Frank went over to pick up a piece and tripped over my boa constrictor, Muscles, who was on the road with me. Muscles is harmless, but Frank hates snakes and proceeded to scream and yell. I started chasing him around the room with the boa. Frank got the upper hand, however. He panicked, ran from the room, and grabbed the security guard’s gun. He was going to shoot Muscles, but the guard calmed him down. Later he said all he could think of was: “I’ve got to get that snake.” I’ve found that a lot of tough men are afraid of snakes.”

“I can’t answer whether or not I like being famous but I do love achieving goals. I love not only reaching a mark I’ve set for myself but exceeding it. Doing more than I thought I could, that’s a great feeling.”

That’s what makes greatness. You have to have that tragedy, that pain to pull from. That’s what makes a clown great. You can see he’s hurting behind the masquerade. He’s something else externally.

"In their innocence, very young children know themselves to be light and love. If we will allow them, they can teach us to see ourselves the same way."

"Liza Minelli is a person whose friendship I’ll always cherish. She’s like my show business sister. We have the best time together. I love her.”

“Well, let’s face it, who wants mortality? Everybody wants immortality. You want what you create to live; be it a sculpture or painting or music, a composition. Like Michelangelo, he said; ‘I know the creator will go, but his work survives. That is why to escape death, I attempt to bind my soul to my work’” - Michael Jackson

“It’s an adventure. It’s a great adventure. We want to take them places that they’ve never been before. We want to show them talent like they’ve never seen before. “ This is it (2009)

"I wore shades for years, because, it's true your eyes are like window to your soul. I didn't want anyone to look into my soul... I don't want anybody to see my pain - a lot of pain - it's very, very scared."

Mitt hjärta brast precis...

"I get tired sometimes, because there are some that comes with the worst attitudes, and say: ‘Sit down and autographs it for my daughter’ and then tear the paper from your hands. I still ask ‘Do you have a pen?’ and they say: ‘You do not have a pen? Then see if you get any ‘. That’s what people have come to tell me. Go crazy with some people. They think they are the owners. And they say, ‘Look, I miss the way you were’ … and I say, ‘Wait a minute. You did not buy my disc to help me. If you bought it because you like it, that’s the truth."

I think school is the most important thing that a person can do. For themselves. Er…whatever you feel your endeavor is in life, whatever your interest is, your goal, school gives you a great education to drive it through, to make it come true. And er…what else could teach you whatever your interest is ? I love entertainment and er…there’s a lot of people I love to watch and study. My favorite subject was Art and… English. As far as the writing mainly, Art is a big part, I mean, sometimes I would look at a painting and create whole songs from the painting. ~ MJ, Soulbeat Interview 1979
