CHRIS TUCKER TALAR MJ

Åååååhhhhhh. ❤ Skrattade och höll på typ börja tjuta när han härmade hans röst, haha. Är lite knäpp så där. Ännu en orsak till att se Silver Lining's Playbook, eftersom Chris Tucker är med i den!

DRESSING MICHAEL JACKSON

When you walk through the studio doors to prepare to film, you check your identity at the door. I was no longer Michael Bush. I was “wardrobe.” In the business, you are summoned by your job description. If your job is hair someone shouts, “Hair,” and if your job is makeup, then you’ll hear another yell for “Makeup!” And, like a dog to a whistle, you respond. It’s not personal; there are just too many people to remember by name, and the revolving door of the studio makes it virtually pointless to try to remember a name. But working with Michael was different. By 1991, I had been with him in 6 years, so the time when we were on set for the “Black or White” short film, and Michael called out “Wardrobe!” he caught himself. Michael stood in front of the green screen, leg guards sliding down his leg, with his hand over his mouth.

As I responded to the call and bent down to fix his guards, Michael reached for my arm, utterly mortified at the thought of being so impersonal and profusely apologized, saying, “I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry. I know your name, Bush. I didn’t mean that.” We were very close friends and confidants by this point, thanks to all of the travel time that allowed us personal conversations, as well as Michael’s eagerness to share his feelings with me about his day-to-day activities and long-term goals. I knew he didn’t mean it and couldn’t help but admire his humility. It’s not every day you hear about a person of Michael’s fame taking the focus off of himself and recognizing those who directly or indirectly help make his life work.

“That’s okay, Michael. From now on when on set, we’ll call you The Entertainer. ‘Is the Entertainer ready? Wardrobe to The Entertainer!”

Michael chuckled and gave me that raised eyebrow that said, “Man, you are all right.” But I think inside he liked the idea of being called “The Entertainer.” After all, he was the consummate entertainer, a master of ceremony. And nothing proved this truth better than Michael’s tours.

I don't know how to process it. It's just unbelieveable – him leaving before me. I can't believe it.

GOLDEN TEMPLE

"My fondest memory would be living in New York City with him (1995) while he made the HIStory album, especially the night he played the piano for me and sang while I cooked him dinner. I met Michael for the first time at the Golden Temple when I was the chef there. We were both shy. He came in everyday. What I'll miss the most is the laugh, the love and fun that I have never seen since."

UTDRAG UR JERMAINES BOK

One day, Michael decided he wanted a llama. He asked me to take him to nearby Agora and we ended up at this lot packed with hay and horse trailers. From the car, we eyed four llamas out back. I parked between two trailers, unintentionally shielding my Mercedes from view. It was the only parking spot available. When we walked into the office – two kids dressed casual but smart in T-shirt and jeans – this guy, bent across a counter doing some paperwork, didn't even look up when he said, "We're not hiring."
"We ain't looking for no job," said Michael, wearing his shades. "We're here to buy a llama."
The man looked up. Not a flicker of recognition on his face. It took me about two seconds to know that his musical taste ventured nowhere near the Thriller album. "We don't have any llamas," he said. The look on his face said it all: you can't afford it.
"You have four of them out back," I said, trying to keep calm.
"You know how much they cost?"
Michael smiled. "We know how much they cost."

Then came an incredible bombardment of questions, fired by the man's prejudices and assumptions. "Can you afford a llama? What do you boys do to afford a llama? Where will you keep it? Have you ever thought about this?"
Ever patient, Michael explained that we had a house with grounds and were serious customers. "I know how to look after all kinds of animals," he added.
The man begrudgingly asked to see some ID. Michael handed over a bank card. I handed over my driving license. And then night became day.

"You're those Jackson boys?" said the man, his face lighting up. He began to back-pedal about how he had to be careful and he couldn't sell to just anyone; you understand how it is. But we didn't understand: we saw right through him.
"So you're happy to accept me because now you know who I am?" Michael asked. The biggest misconception people had about my brother was that his legendary shyness made him timid, but he was a man of principle, especially where his roots as a proud black man were concerned and he wasn't afraid to speak up on this when riled.
Michael took back his ID and came right out with it: "You are an ass, and we don't want to spend our money in here anymore."
Then we walked out to the Mercedes the man had failed to spot when we arrived.

Sitting and talking to Michael I would look into his eyes and I could see for 1.000 miles. He had these most incredible eyes. They come off good on film, but nothing like in person. When you're actually sitting across there looking at him, those eyes were unbelievable. There were times it would just stop me in my tracks and there were times I'd be around him where I'd kind of forget who he was and then it would dawn on me... "I'm sitting here next to Michael Jackson." I never really got over that. There were times he would do these quick little step things and they were like lightening. It was just so quick, so precise and just amazing.

RANDY PHILLIPS

When we did the press conference in London, it was the biggest press conference to announce a live entertainment project I've ever seen. He was so nervous, and like really concerned as to what he was embarking on and how people would react to him after so many years. And as he heard the roar of the crowd and started walking up the steps of the stage, he became "Michael Jackson" again when he walked and took that microphone in his hand. They were telling him that they still loved him. And I think that was really really important to him. It underscored the point that he was just a human being.

Michael was a perfectionist beyond your wildest imagination. Everytime we would shoot, he would call me and we'd have a two-hour conversation to discuss what it was we were going to go about it. He was very genuine and really loved photography. I dearly miss him. He was a tragic individual but an amazing human being.

SETH RIGGS

Every night the kids would come in on stretchers, so sick they could hardly hold their heads up. Michael would kneel down at the stretchers put his face right down beside theirs so that he could have his picture taken with them, and then he give them a copy to remember the moment. I’m a 60 yr old man, and I couldn’t take it. I’d be in the bathroom crying. But Michael could take it, right before going on stage no less. The kids would perk right up in his presence. If it gave them a couple of days more energy, to Michael that was worth it.

GREG HILDEBRANDT

Artist Greg Hildebrandt om dessa foton: ” I was very fortunate to have had the oppurtunity to spend time with Michael in 1988, during his Bad Tour, and in 1989 at his ranch, Neverland Valley. In 1988, Michael invited me to spend ten days with him during his Tour. He was performing in NJ at the time. As I lived in NJ, I told him I would be happy to drive back and forth to the city but he insisted on getting me a suite at the Helmsley Palace. We spend many hours together and I went to every concert with him. It was truly a wonderful experience. What struck me from the first moment I met Michael was how intelligent he was. I of course knew his music and knew what an incredible performer he was, but I had no idea that he had deep passions for art and art history. He was especially passionate about American Illustrators. We spent many hours talking about Maxfield Parrish, N.C. Wyeth, Howard Pyle, Jesse Wilcox Smith and of course his favorite Norman Rockwell. Michael sent an armored truck to my studio and they picked up over 150 of my paintings. They were leaning all around the suite and we spent quite a bit of time discussing my art and classic literature. Michael was also an avid book collector and I was surprised to find out that he had every book I had illustrated. But my greatest surprise are when he asked me to give him drawing lessons. I quickly learned that he had a natural talent for art. We would set and sketch, chat and eat popcorn. It was casual and enjoyable."

BRUNO MARS

He's the best! You know, I remember seeing a Michael Jackson concert in Hawaii when he came down... I think it was the HIStory Tour... and he ruined it for me. Like, I can't go see another concert because you are watching this dude who's dancing like he's not human. He's singing some of the greatest songs of pop-culture (and he's got them all), and then the stage blows up. So, I don't know what kid wasn't wearing a glove and moonwalking in his living room if he was my age.
